here’s the latest iteration of an ongoing series, started in 2003… “coefficient” refers to the measurable tidal variance between evolving high and low tides. the moon varies the tidal swings and the coefficient therefore changes daily. rise and ebb. this really comes to bear in Brittany France, where I lived and experienced the vast tidal movement that northwestern France is famous for. the tides there are astonishing: waves come and go with it; boats propped on stilts in the mud, hulls bone dry, rise and weigh anchor hours later, sail off. when the coefficient is big and there’s a nearby storm, waves are a certainty. these two panels are not the same thickness nor exactly the same color, but they do go together, but you already knew that.
